We have stumbled on few clients asking us if we've got polygraph to reinforce some aspect of employee background checks. Should Polygraph be employed in some aspects of employee background checks?

Personally, after having had 3 polygraphs, I would never do it again. Yes, I was cleared but it was grueling and
the interpreter was wrong in some instances. I prefer handwriting analysis.

Polygraph tests can be used for checking specific facts but it cannot be used to analyse a candidate. We instead use a voice analysis system where the candidate has to provide an answer to a number of questions and the system understands if he is telling the truth or not. Sometimes the candidate does not tell the truth but not because he is personally responsible for something but because he knows someone in the organization who does. For example, if the system gives a red alert on drugs, the candidate might know collegues who make use of drugs at work.
